Developing a mission statement for the Reformed Church, Solothurn

Getting the community of the Reformed Church Solothurn to work together is a constant challenge. Members and parish residents need to perceive the church as lively and modern. Financial resources are getting ever smaller, so it is important to set priorities carefully. The church wanted this process of reorientation to be carried out professionally and with the right communications support. That is why it asked int/ext Communications to help it develop its mission statement.

We conducted an analysis of the parish by means of interviews and drew up preliminary findings. The draft of the new mission statement was discussed in a number of committee meetings and at a parish workshop, and then submitted to the church community for approval. Thanks to the impressive efforts of the committee members, the church community now identifies strongly with the mission statement.
